After the much media-hyped statement from J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah about his decision to end his 17 year old marriage, it seems there could be some change in the young man’s stance. If insiders in the family are to be believed, Omar is being persuaded to now issue another statement regretting his earlier one to the media which have hurt the sentiments of the family. With pressure mounting after some sections of the media spilled the internal conflicts of the couple’s relationship, Omar had little choice but to admit publicly that his personal life was in turmoil.
It could be true that he reacted without realizing the repercussions and is now contemplating balancing it out with a more thought-out practical approach. It seems, despite earlier reports of his link-ups with other women Omar is being made to think more rationally, especially keeping the future of his two children in mind. The J&K Chief Minister, who has had rough patches professionally too ever since he took over as the head of state, is now struggling to keep his private life in order. One only hopes he can sort out boith at the earliest.
