For all those Congress MPs who enjoy sauntering in and out of Parliament, party president Sonia Gandhi has a quick remedy. In the middle of the Parliament term she cracked her whip like the head-mistress of a school full of erring students. At the last Parliament session she called a meeting of her party members and stressed the need for compulsory attendance for all her MPs and ministers. It seems, some truant MPs were also issued notices pointing at their absence from Parliament while the session was on. But there are some like Sandeep Diskhit and Deepender Hooda whom Mrs G is very fond of for their exemplary attendance in the House. They do deserve a pat on the back.
