Rahul’s Charm

Rahul Gandhi and Sachin Pilot recently made a quiet trip to Germany. They were part of the Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance organised by the Zeit Foundation at Hamburg in Germany. The duo delivered speeches on account of being Bucerius fellows. Rahul in fact was a key note speaker and spoke about India’s battle with poverty. Sachin also charmed the current lot of Bucerius fellows with his wit and intelligence.

But the verdict on them was quite divided amongst students attending the programme. Sachin was perceived to be a man with potential: Someone to watch out for. But where the junior Gandhi was concerned, the men thought he was rather forlorn and unapproachable while women students found him the ultimate charmer. A Chinese girl seemed to have particularly enjoyed her conversation with Rahul especially her experience with the Red Cross. So engrossed was Mr G with the Chinese woman that he didn’t seem to hear another male student who was trying hard to get his attention. If only the poor guy knew the huge pressure on young Rahul back home to find himself a girl : And it’s only fair that Rahul gave every girl a fair chance. But Indian girls too would not mind having a shot at Rahul at similar forums.
