CBI officers to get lessons in ‘Art of Living’ to bring calm in warring agency

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to work his magic on CBI’s frayed nerves

With the rift at the top overshadowing its investigations, the CBI has taken to a novel way to calm its officers’ frayed nerves: it has organised a three-day Art of Living (AoL) workshop starting from Saturday.

Over 150 Central Bureau of Investigation officers from the rank of inspectors up to in-charge Director will be attending the event to be organized at the agency’s headquarters in south Delhi’s Lodi Road area.

“The CBI is organising the workshop under AoL’s Synergy programme of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The purpose is to improve positivity, enhance synergy, generate a healthy atmosphere in the agency and motivate the staff to achieve their full potential,” a CBI statement said.

The move comes 17 days after Verma and Asthana were divested of their powers and sent on leave as per October 23 order following corruption charges hurled by them against each other.

The war within CBI came out in the open after an FIR was lodged against Asthana and others on the statement of Hyderabad-based businessman Sathish Babu Sana.
